This is a beautiful home we painted in Northcote. It is an original heritage home at the front with a modern extension at the rear. We painted the older part of the house and the modern timber cladding and decks that were very stained and weathered.

We painted the original house following our usual processes – pressure washing and electric sanding prior to gapping, filling and painting. The timber cladding was the more difficult of the work. We were concerned about how well it was going to clean up and how successful we would be at removing the staining. We cleaned it multiple times with timber cleaner and were able to remove most of the staining prior to recoating in Sikkens Cetol HLS, Light Oak.

We used Haymes Solashield for most of the painted section of the house in Balsa 2 (Haymes) with Builders White on windows and doors,  and Feast Watson oil-based decking oil, Merbau for the decks.

We were relieved and very happy with the outcome and our client was thrilled to see the timber brought back to life.
