We received a 2023 painting award for this fabulous home we painted in Northcote, very close to Flemington. The rear of the house is a modern extension and the front original. Apart from the usual preparation of sanding, filling and gapping we also washed and sanded alot of oiled timber and brought it back to life using Sikkens Cetol HLS. Much of the timber was black or very weathered and we had to wash multiple times and sand prior to recoating. For more information on this project please click here to see our project page.
We received this 2022 painting award for the painting of this beautiful heritage home in Altona. We have included a before and after shot for you. The significant preparation and painting together with the new modern colour scheme have really lifted this home from heavy and dark (see below) to light and airy. We completed substantial preparation including stripping of some paint and oil undercoated alot of the timber prior to painting. This photo is of the Melbourne Athenaeum in the Melbourne CBD. This is a true heritage building – it was built in the early to mid 1800’s. It was complex to paint as we needed to clean the building first and scrape back unstable paint before we could even think about painting. There was a lot of detailing involved with the ornate features and the picking out of the second colour. The building has been transformed and looks fabulous now. The above shots are the before and after photos of a heritage home we painted in Flemington. This is typical of many houses we paint where we sprayed the stucco trim and completed the usual preparation including sanding, gapping and filling. The house looks fabulous now in it’s new bright colour scheme.
These are the front and rear photos of a fabulous home we painted in Brunswick. It is the original heritage facade and a very modern extension at the rear. We completed substantial preparation with this project and used scaffolding to access the high areas.
This photo is of a traditional cottage in Brunswick. We have painted many of these style of homes throughout Melbourne including Flemington. Generally weatherboard homes like these require a reasonable amount of preparation including pressure washing, filing, gapping and sanding before we can paint.

Flemington 3031
Flemington is an inner city suburb of Melbourne located 6kms north-west from the CBD. It is part of the City of Melbourne and has a population of 8,000 residents.
James Watson came to Port Phillip in 1839 to purchase land for himself and other investors located in England and Scotland. He named the area Flemington after Flemington Estate in Scotland where his father-in-law was the Manager.
Flemington’s major landmark is the Flemington Racecourse where the world famous Melbourne Cup is held annually on the first Tuesday of November.
