We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St Kilda East, very close to Elsternwick. It was in very poor condition with alot of bubbling and peeling so we had to strip alot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and condition of the paint work we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. This 2021 Award is for the painting of this fabulous heritage 2-storey home in St. Kilda. It was a bit unusual in that the windows and doors were already painted in 2-colours in gloss enamel and our client wanted to repaint in enamel so we did that. There are over 70 windows. Ordinarily we would change over to acrylic paint.
Before commencing we organised our carpenter to repair the 2nd-storey balcony and replace rotten timber as required. We completed extensive preparation and especially with the gloss enamel surfaces to ensure they would be smooth, glossy and the paint finish durable. We stripped some fascias and window sills and oil-undercoated those and all bare timber prior to painting. Due to the age of the property we assumed there was lead paint underneath and followed our lead paint procedures when stripping paint. The above photos are of the Malvern Heart Centre. We painted both the inside and outside following the renovation of this iconic building in Malvern East. Elsternwick 3185
Elsternwick is situated 9kms south-east of the Melbourne CBD and is part of the City of Glen Eira. It has a population of approx. 9,000 people.
Elsternwick is named after Charles Ebden’s house:Elster (Elster is German for “magpie”). Charles Ebden was a pastoralist, businessman and parliamentarian representing the seat of Brighton. The area was previously known as Red Bluff.
Elsternwick is situated close to the beaches and city and is home to Elsternwick Park Golf Club.
Elsternwick’s surrounding suburbs include Caulfield North, St. Kilda East, Brighton and Brighton East.
