We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St Kilda East. It was in very poor condition with alot of bubbling and peeling so we had to strip alot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and the condition of the paint work we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. This 2021 Award is for the painting of this fabulous heritage 2-storey home in St. Kilda. It was a bit unusual in that the windows and doors were already painted in 2-colours in gloss enamel and our client wanted to repaint in enamel so we did that. There are over 70 windows. Ordinarily we would change over to acrylic paint.
Before commencing we organised our carpenter to repair the 2nd-storey balcony and replace rotten timber as required. We completed extensive preparation and especially with the gloss enamel surfaces to ensure they would be smooth, glossy and the paint finish durable. We stripped some fascias and window sills and oil-undercoated those and all bare timber prior to painting. Due to the age of the property we assumed there was lead paint underneath and followed our lead paint procedures when stripping paint. This image is the exterior of an apartment block we painted in East St. Kilda. This is a large building that required significant preparation. We used a boom and scaffolding to paint this building. We were awarded an Excellence in Painting Award in 2017 for this project. For more information please click here.
The exterior shot is of a 2-storey terrace we painted in Albert Park. Being a period home this house required quite a lot of preparation before we could paint. We also used a boom to access the 2nd-storey and above.
These two photos are from another house also in Albert Park. We painted this as part of a major renovation/extension. The front part of the house was kept intact with period features and the rear of the house and the 2nd- level are very modern.
The second interior shot show the rear of the house. This has a very different feel to it. You can see the double height walls with the void. Much of the new part of the house is like this.
