These 2 photos are from another large modern home in Kew. These show the entrance and stairwell. We painted prior to our client moving in. We updated the colours to Builders White on the ceilings and Dulux Natural White on walls and woodwork to provide a more contemporary feel.
Photos of a large 2-storey home we painted in Kew. Substantial preparation was required including pressure washing, electric sanding, filling and organising our carpenter to replace rotten timber. Access was a little tricky so we used scaffolding in some areas.
The following three photos are of a beautiful period home we painted in Kew. We undertook substantial preparation with both the interior and exterior. We find period homes generally require more preparation than modern homes.
We painted both the interior and exterior over a number of years when our clients were ready to paint another area of their home.
The photos show the ornate features in the home and detail painting required with the woodwork in particular. In addition we also undertook significant preparation repairing cracks in the render and timber both inside and out.
The exterior photo is at the rear of the property – the trees at the front made it difficult to photograph the house!
The final photo is of a modern home in Kew where we painted the exterior. As it is 2-storey we painted from extension ladders. The preparation required for modern homes like this is much less than for period homes like the one above.

Kew 3101
Kew is a large inner east suburb of Melbourne. It is 6kms from the CBD and has a population of over 23,000. Its local government area is City of Boroondara.
The Kew area was originally inhabited by the Wurundjeri peoples. When the area was settled by Europeans in the 1840’s they named it the Parish of Boroondara—meaning “a place of shade” in the Woiwurrung language.
Kew was established in 1851 when a local landowner subdivided his land which was close to Richmond. As Kew in England is close to Richmond; he followed suit. He also named many streets after British statesmen.
Kew is renowned for its beautiful mansions, private schools, Studley Park, Yarra Bend Park, Kew Golf Club and Studley Park Golf Course.
Kew is bordered by Balwyn, Hawthorn, Abbotsford, Fairfield and Alphington.
