We received a 2023 painting award for this fabulous home we painted in Northcote. The rear of the house is a modern extension and the front original. Apart from the usual preparation of sanding, filling and gapping we also washed and sanded alot of oiled timber and brought it back to life using Sikkens Cetol HLS. Much of the timber was black or very weathered and we had to wash multiple times and sand prior to recoating. For more information on this project please click here to see our project page.
We received this 2022 painting award for the painting of this beautiful heritage home in Altona. We have included a before and after shot for you. The significant preparation and painting together with the new modern colour scheme have really lifted this home from heavy and dark (see below) to light and airy. We completed substantial preparation including stripping of some paint and oil undercoated alot of the timber prior to painting. This is a beautiful period style home in Ascot Vale. This is similar to many Essendon homes with the gables, lacework and detailing. We used scaffolding a boom to access the high areas and completed significant preparation including pressure washing, gapping, filling and sanding.
This photo is of another period home, this time in Brunswick. Once again significant preparation was required and 3 coats to change it from the heavy colour scheme to this more neutral palette.
This photo is of a stunning home in Williamstown. You can see the ornate detailing and high ceilings in the image. These type of homes generally require a reasonable amount of preparation filling cracks on ceilings and cornices and solid walls prior to painting.
This photo is from a house we painted in Moonee Ponds. We painted many of the ceilings and walls throughout and touched up the exterior prior to sale.

Strathmore 3041
Strathmore is located 11kms north-west of the Melbourne CBD. It is part of the City of Moonee Valley with a population of 8,000.
Strathmore was originally called North Essendon. In 1936 the Rev. John Sinclair suggested the name of Strathmore which was later adopted by the church. The name was derived from a local landowner’s Scottish heritage, the valley of Strathmore, Scotland close to where he once lived. Thomas Napier, the landowner owned 100 acres at that time. His son, Theodore Napier, donated 10 acres to the Council in 1920 which is known as Napier Park a landmark of the area.
Strathmore’s neighbouring suburbs include Essendon, Oak Park and Pascoe Vale.
