Balwyn is a Melbourne suburb located 10 kms east of the CBD. It is part of the city of Boroondara with a population of over 15,000.
Balwyn was named after a house built by Andrew Murray in the late 1850′s which overlooked Canterbury Gardens and is now part of Fintona Girls’ School. He named his house Balwyn meaning “the home of the vine”.
